If you love skateboarding culture, music, and simple fun, you'll love Pretty Poison. You can enter the bowl with a board and shred some rounds yourself. Even if you don’t skate, you can still admire the quirky industrial chic interiors, order a cold beer, and watch some local dudes get in the bowl and put on an extreme sports spectacle. Come as you are and make new friends. Around the pool, you have different spots to choose from, ranging from cushioned sofas to tables and stools crafted out of refurbished oil drums.

The café at Deus Ex Machina is the extension of the cool Aussie surf and motorsports enthusiast’s company on Jalan Batu Mejan. You can chill in the evenings with vintage motorbikes and surfboards in close view through its showroom. There’s also an art gallery where regular pop art and contemporary exhibitions are held onsite. Deus Café offers tasty treats and a range of drinks – from espresso to cocktails – all the while basking in the cool Canggu paddy breezes. The bar stocks a good selection of New World wines, while Deus custom cocktails include Mai Tai, Sea Breeze and sidecar (from IDR 100,000 or USD 8 per serving). You can also order cocktails for sharing, served in 1-litre jugs

Old Man’s Bar in Canggu is a hip beer garden near the dark sand beachfront of Batu Bolong Beach. The bar is conveniently right in front of the lava reef’s rights, so you can drop in any time before or after surfing. The bar’s thatched roof main pavilion is perfect for hanging out with friends and to cool off during the day, with seating that ranges from benches under wide Balinese style parasols, to striped and colourful beanbags for lounging over its green lawn. The fun and friendly atmosphere takes on a wilder partying scene after sunsets, particularly during Old Man’s Bar’s ‘Dirty Ol’ Wednesday nights that always has drinking games, and their table tennis turned into a makeshift beer pong stage.

La Brisa is a bar and beach club on Canggu’s Echo Beach. Like another popular venue that’s part of the same family, La Laguna, La Brisa features bohemian chic styling, but with a more laidback fisherman’s shack theme. La Brisa also regularly hosts beach parties, with international guest DJs jamming with the resident techno jockey, Tiago Oudman.

Finns Beach Club is the chicest hangout at Berawa Beach. It has a magnificent all-bamboo structure that’s spacious and airy. The bar overlooks its blue-tiled freeform infinity pool. It’s one of the best lounging spots in Canggu for sunsets. Come for the Finns After Dark events for partying vibes. You'll be treated to live music performances by international guest DJs and rising stars. Finns Beach Club also plays host regularly to specialty events. These include fitness and bodybuilding championships, catwalks and product launches with interesting promo deals. A minimum spend usually applies and varies for each event. However, its regularly IDR 250,000 (USD 18.75) at the door per person, which also gets you a towel.
